Pull Up a Seat at Franklin's Table
1799 Kitchen
& Bar Room
At 1799, history isn’t a memory—it’s a living force that shapes every dish, every pour, every gathering. Our kitchen is rooted in Southern tradition, yet always reaching forward. With ingredients sourced from nearby farms, fields, and waters, we craft food that feels both familiar and unexpected. This is where the past sets the table for what’s next. Where seasonal ingredients meet timeless technique. Where culinary masterpieces join legendary whiskeys to coax us all to come together.

Meet Chef
Thomas Tuggle
He brings a coast-to-coast perspective and a deep respect for regional ingredients to the heart of Franklin. As Executive Chef of 1799, he leads with quiet precision and bold creativity—elevating Southern traditions through thoughtful technique and local partnerships. After refining his craft in top kitchens across the country, including five years at San Diego’s Park Hyatt Aviara, Chef Tuggle returned to his roots with a vision: to create food that feels familiar, but tastes entirely new. Under his leadership, 1799 has become a destination for refined, approachable dining—earning accolades like the People’s Choice Award at the Southern Food & Whiskey Experience. With a deep commitment to craft and a love for bringing people together, Chef Tuggle’s kitchen is more than a place of preparation—it’s the soul of Franklin’s table.
